"I have to say, Bay Area 2nd Mom is not ethical in the least! I will NEVER use this agency.
I will be sure to email everyone I know and tell my story:
First they make the nanny pay for her own background checks up front (one nanny said she paid them $150 dollars) then parents are told the $250 application fee is to pay for the nanny's background checking fees... yet on your credit card statement there will be further charges from this agency...to supposedly pay for the nanny's background check. When asking the owner why was there extra charges she gets VERY rude, starts huffing and puffing at you and tells you to read the fine print.
FYI: Livecsan with Trustline is only $130 dollars per applicant.
The best part? Bay Area 2nd Mom does not put the nanny through background check! They could not provide me with a copy! After being paid THREE times to conduct and COMPLETE a simple background check, it was not completed. Classic.
Read around the Internet and good luck finding a review that tells a positive experience about this agency. Watch out nannies and parents...I would not give anymore of your precious money to such a shady business.
Its a shame they give nanny agency's a bad name. Not all are profit driven..."

The first doubt stems from the amount of information requested. Why should you provide your driver license and social security number to find a Nanny ? Further perplexity arises when you are requested to sign (and initial) that Referral Rees will be extracted from your credit card BEFORE the start of the Candidate search. Hence, this is not a success fee, as you were led to believe. By then you begin feeling uncomfortable and call the credit card customer service. But, as expected, the $ 250 "Application Fee" has promptly been cashed ... Too late, but never too late to warn other stressed-out parents. I used A Nanny Solution and had a better experience, better nannies and less expensive. They did more for me and cost less.

Expensive - but great - i found a fantastic vacation nanny and have used the on-call service in a pintch with good results!
